A bunch of mexican bandidos, led by brutal Angelo Gonzales (Simon Andreu), raids an US weapon transport, killing all
soldiers. The booty is rich: 400 guns and two machineguns plus amno. In addition the Mexicanos get the daughter (Teresa Gimpera)
of Dr. Adams, medecin of Fort Apache, who wanted to visit her father
by surprise. The weapons shall help a senile troglodyte, austrian general Mueller (Daniele Vargas), to reconquer the region
for Austria. Washington sends out three specialists under
the command of captain Chadwell (Stephen Boyd, Harry Baird, Howard Ross) for Fort Apache to ban the danger. The mission seems to succeed: Supported by
muslim bountyhunter Korano (Gianni Garko), the Yanks wipe out most of the bandits, whereas korano captures Sanchez to gain
the bounty of 1000 dollars. But Sanchez escapes for several times. As a result the three specialists and Korano start operating
together to kick Mueller in his senile ass, destroy all weapons, liberate Miss Adams and cash the bounty for Sanchez.

The
Gunslinger says:
Above average actioner, featuring a slight touch of humor, by Giuseppe Rosati, who didn’t direct soo many films.
It’s a solid oeuvre with good camera worx and cheerful actors. For that it’s much better than most of the western,
made in the “Dawn of the SW”. Even the few brawls - I normally don’t like them very much - are staged stylish
and skillfull. But, folx, I can’t join the laud for the Fidenco score: To me it wasn’t aaas impressive at all,
exept the great title track, which is sung by Stephen Boyd.
