Mr. Talbot (Andrea Bosic), who candidates for a seat in the senat, is in a good mood: Only
two days to go until the election is held and he is on his way to Washington. But bad news reach the candidate’s ears.
Idaho-Kent (Mike Marshall), a government’s galloper, is on his way with some explosive documents, which could easily
replace the senator’s seat by a place on the gibbet. Different tries to kill Idaho fail and Talbot runs out of time.
At the instance of his wife Dolores (Hélène Chanel), he hires gunman Luke Prentiss (Claudio Undari), a buddy of former times,
to solve the difficult situation finally. But Kent proves, that there are no wimps working for the government.
The Gunslinger says:
Giuseppe Vari made this film in 1967. Unfortunately I could only see the crippled
German version (BMG/Ufa), which has little more than two third of the original length. So I can’t rate it seriously.
What I can say: good trumpet score by „Lallo“ Gori, an ambitious camerawork (lots of handcamera and some exeptional
shots) and obviously quite mediocre acting efforts.
Rating: none
Bodycount: ca. 25 gringos
Explicit brutalities:
Instead of killing Idaho with a fast bullet, Talbot‘s men beat him up heavily and leave
him to die. A big mistake ...
Luv‘:
Beautiful Susan (Carol André) falls in love with Idaho (or with his nice haircut?), but he
is too cool for her: 1/10
Splatter: 0/10
Specials:
The showdown of Luke und Idaho is determined by a pianoforte with plays the Mexican tune „Adelita“.
