Toward end of the American civil war Kid ("Peter Lee Lawrence") is a medical hand with the Confederates. As Yankee
troops, led by sadistic Captain Grayton (Espartaco Santoni), take the the military hospital and kill the wounded, Kid cannot
seize to a gun. Humiliating sits deeply, and therefor after end of war he gets a hard training. Later on he joins the Rangers.
One day he is ordered into his hometown Springfield: Here ex-Captain Grayton has become a great land owner, who forces the
farmers with the help of its racquet troop to sell their land. He wants to get really rich by the approaching railway. Kid,
who calls himself "Sando Kid", helps the farmers not only with his gun, but he unites them also to a cooperative, so that
they are able to marked their land for themselves. Finally Kid succeed with a little help of the bountyhunter "Dollar" (Franco
Agostini).
The Gunslinger says:
Annoying routine Western from the year 1971 with a nevertheless reasonable look and fat sounds. The German
version suffers however from dilettante cutting, which leads to some unmotivated transitions. Karl Hirenbach once more is
the pre-Hippie, who first reject weapons, but is forced by circumstances to put on the gun. But then he starts and slams everone
off, he gets before his barrels. Trash Queen Helga Liné as saloon singer Mabel is worth seeing.
